Wall decals are essentially graphic designs specially cut from vinyl material into stickers that can be used to decorate homes, shops, offices and any other relatively flat and smooth surface. "Decorette" is an affectionate term we like to call our decals as these help to "Decorate" your spaces!

At Decorette, we use a top-rated material that is ultra thin, high quality vinyl created with a removable adhesive. This allows our decals to be stuck onto any flat surface and cleanly removed (100%!) without leaving any sticky residue or harm to most surfaces.

Unlike a typical sticker, our decals are not printed, but cut out (like a die-cut) from vinyl and comes in 3 layers, with the decal sandwiched between a backing paper and application tape. Decorettes are fully DIY, allowing you get in touch with your creative side and form your very own unique feature wall - all in a matter of minutes!

 Our decals can be applied to any relatively smooth and flat surface including walls, mirrors, glass windows, cars, metal, wood, laptops, fridges, the ceiling, floor - the possibilities are endless!

Some slightly rough surfaces (e.g. orange peel texture) are still acceptable. Rough textured walls with sharp bumps and crevices are not suitable at all. See the pictures below for an idea of acceptable surfaces.

Freshly Painted Walls: Please allow freshly painted walls to dry for at least 2-3 weeks before attempting to stick our decals on. This ensures that it is thoroughly dry and will ensure the paint does not come off when the decals are removed in the future.

Particularly unsuitable surfaces include:

Walls with old paint that "flecks" (i.e. peels off) very easily on its own. Adhering our decals to this type of surface may peel off the paint with it when the decals are removed in future;

Rough, sharp, bumpy surfaces - these will make it difficult for the decal to adhere to the surface and may even pierce the decal;

Paper and wallpaper surfaces are not suitable unless a permanent adhesion is expected.

Generally, No. In most cases, Decorettes peel off without leaving any sticky residue or harm to your surfaces as our adhesive is specially created with the intention of being removable.

Of course there are many variants when it comes to types of surfaces so this is also dependent on the type of condition the original surface is in.

To avoid damaging your painted walls, ensure that freshly painted walls are allowed to dry for at least 2 to 3 weeks before applying decals. Also, old paint flecks easily and should be avoided to refrain from peeling off the paint during removal.

Our decals are created with a top-rated quality vinyl and will last for 3 to 5 years indoors and about 2 to 3 years outdoors. We guarantee they will not curl at the edges, peel away or fade in colour within this time.

Our decals are designed to be temporary applications, i.e. removable, but we guarantee you the best quality in the industry so your decals will virtually last for as long as you need them. With extra care and minimum exposure to extreme weather conditions, Decorettes can last for years and years!

We get asked this question a lot! Our decals are very easily removed, but once they are peeled off, they cannot be reused. This is because the decals are made from very thin material which can stretch or tear easily during the removal process.

Note that this is different to being Re-Positionable. Our decals can be re-positioned during the application process - meaning you can quickly reposition decals during the application process, but once the decal is stuck firmly onto the surface for a few days, the stickiness will start working into the surface, so removing it at a later time may stretch or tear it.

Our decals are made to order so you can select to have your design in any colour from our colour chart during purchase. Our range of materials include Matte, Metallic and Frosted colours, simply select what colour you would like your decal in when adding an item to your cart.

Please note our Frosted range of colours is recommended for Glass surfaces (e.g. mirrors, windows, etc) as these are semi-translucent and will not have the same frosted effect on walls.
